The News Ticker Tile

How To Use

In order to use the News Ticker tile, you will need to connect it to an announcement tile. In order to do this, you will need to open up the settings of the News Ticker tile. From here, you can go to the List tab and using the link path option be able to direct to the announcement list that you would like to link to via the News Ticker tile.

Settings

Tile

Full Width: Sets it so that the tile will automatically stretch to the length of the design canvas.
Width: Sets the width of the News Ticker Tile.
Height: Sets the height of the News Ticker Tile.
Background Color: Sets the background color of non critical items on the News Ticker tile.
Max Content Length: Sets the maximum amount of characters for the content.
Critical Background Color: Sets the background color of critical items on the News Ticker Tile.
Autoplay: Turns on Autoplay.
Autoplay Speed (seconds): Sets the amount of seconds between transitions.

List


List Path - Sets the List where the items are retrieved from.
Item Count Limit - Sets how many items are shown on the tile. 0 counts as all items.
Title Field - Allows the user to choose which field is the title on each item.
Body Field - Allows the user to choose which field the content of the announcement is pulled from/
Image Source - Chooses the image in the image column or an attached link.
Image Field - Allows the user to choose which field the image is pulled from.
Display Date - Allows you to choose which date is displayed (modified, created or other)
Order by date - Chooses which date field the news list will be ordered by.
Show only items from today onward - Allows you to choose whether to show items only created today.
Order by - Chooses whether the field will be ordered by Newest to Oldest or Oldest to Newest
Show items with unapproved changes - Allow you to show items which have not been approved should approval be turned on.

Links

List URL Type - Allows you to choose whether you would like the announcement to open up in the LiveTiles Announcement page, the SharePoint list page or a custom URL field associated with the list.
List Page Colors - If the LiveTiles Page is chosen, these three fields allow you to choose the colours for the list page to make it match your page branding.
Click URL Field - If the custom URL field is chosen, you will be able to choose a custom field from a drop-down menu, including the ability to set the link URL to none so it doesn't open.
Click Target - Changes where the links open, either New Window, In Place, Modal Dialogue or Slide.
Modal Width - Sets the width of the Modal Dialogue. Only visible when Modal Dialogue is selected.
Modal Height - Sets the height of the Modal Dialogue. Only visible when Modal Dialogue is selected
Slide Position - Sets which side the slide comes out from (left or right). Only visible when Slide is chosen
Modal Style - Sets the border style of the modal Dialogue (Frameless, Framed or SharePoint). Only visible when modal dialogue is selected.

Text

Override Page Font - This allows you to override the font family that has been selected if the checkbox is checked.
Font Family – Changes the font family of the items text. Selectable via a dropdown list. (Note: This is only available if Override Page Font has been selected)
Font Size – Changes the size (in pixels) of the items text.
Font Color – Changes the color of the text items. Selectable via the color picker.
Font Style – Changes the style of the text items. Either Italic and/or Underlined.
Font Weight – Changes the weight of the text items. Selectable via dropdown list.

Layout

Layer – Changes the depth of the tiles within the page. Selectable via drop-down either Foreground, Background or Custom.
Reorder Within Layer - Changes the depth of the tiles within the layer. Selectable via drop-down either ‘No Change’, ‘Bring to Front’ or ‘Send to Back’.

Advanced

Tile Visibility – Changes which groups can or cannot view the tile. Selectable via dropdown either Everyone, ‘Only for’ or ‘For everyone except’. When ‘Only for’ or ‘For everyone except’ is selected, a dropdown menu will appear where you can assign groups to the category that was selected
Custom CSS Classes: This section allows you to add multiple Custom CSS classes to the product, allowing you to be able to add custom CSS classes to the tile..
