How to Use

The RSS Tile provides updated functionality to the RSS Feed (Legacy) Tile.  Specifically, the RSS Tile adds the ability to view RSS feed content in either a carousel or a list.  Within the tile's settings under the General tab, there is a Layout Type setting which toggles between the carousel and list.  From the General settings, the feed source may be changed to display other RSS feed sources.

Settings

General

Width – Sets the width of the tile.
Height
– Sets the height of the tile.
RSS Path
– Chooses which RSS feed to display in the tile.
Layout Type
– Allows they style of the RSS to be changed between a Carousel style and a List style.  Choosing Carousel will reveal two more settings for Feature Color and Carousel Speed (Seconds).  Choosing List will reveal two more settings for Image Style and Image Height.
Feature Color
– This setting is only available for the Carousel style, and changes the feature color using a color picker.
Carousel Speed (Seconds) – This setting is only available for the Carousel style, and sets the speed that the Carousel will cycle through feeds.
Image Style – This setting is only available for the List style, and changes the style of the images that are being displayed to either a Rectangle, Square, or Circle style.
Image Height – This setting is only available for the List style, and changes the height of displayed images within the list.
Items to Display – Sets a limitation of the amount of feeds to display.  The selection is among 5, 10, and 20 feeds.
Max Content Length – Changes the amount of characters that are displayed per feed item.

Font

Override Page Font – This allows the user to override the font family that has been selected if the checkbox is checked.  Once checked, Font Family will appear.
Font Family
– Changes the font family of the text.  This is only available if the Override Page Font setting has been toggled on.
Font Color
– Changes the color of the text.  Colors are modified via a color picker that appears once font color is clicked.

Links

List Item Target – Changes how a link will open by either being in the Modal Dialog, New Window, In Place, or Slide style.
Modal Width
– Sets the width of the Modal Dialog.  Only visible when Modal Dialog is selected.
Modal Height
– Sets the height of the Modal Dialog.  Only visible when Modal Dialog is selected.
Modal Style
– Sets the border style of the Modal Dialog either Frameless or Framed.  Only visible when Modal Dialog is selected.
Slide Position
– Sets which side of the page the side panel slides out from.  Only available if Slide is chosen.
Slide Width
– Sets the width of the side panel.  Only available is Slide is chosen.

Layout (Fixed Width Canvas)

Layer – Changes the tile to appear in the foreground, background, or custom z-index on the page.
Reorder Within Layer – Allows the object to either be brought to the front, sent to the back, or have no change within the selected layer.

Tile Behavior (Responsive/Content Canvas)

Show on Large Devices – Toggles whether the tile will appear on larger devices or not, such as desktops.
Show on Medium Devices – Toggles whether the tile will appear on medium devices or not, such as tablets.
Show on Small Devices – Toggles whether the tile will appear on small devices or not, such as phones.
Show on Extra-Small Devices – Toggles whether the tile will appear on extra-small devices or not, such as smaller phones.

Advanced

Tile Visibility – Changes which groups can or cannot view the tile.  Permissions are selected with a drop down for Everyone, ‘Only for’ or ‘For everyone except’. When ‘Only for’ or ‘For everyone except’ is selected, another drop down menu will appear where groups can be assigned to the category that was selected.
Lock Tile for Non-owners
– Toggles the tile to only be modifiable by an owner.
Custom CSS Classes
– Allows multiple Custom CSS classes to be added to the tile, allowing more direct control of the tile through custom code.
