Introduction

You can use the bot to access Planner and look at plans, buckets and tasks.

Technical detail

Planner integrates through the Microsoft Graph API. To access Planner, an admin of your tenant is required to provide consent during the authorization process, otherwise you won't be able to access your Planner data. Tenant administrators can be provided a URL that will grant consent for these permissions for the whole tenant.

Using the planner ability

List plans

This provides a list of all your plans that you have access to in Planner, and can be triggered in the bot through the following examples:

  • What plans do I have?
  • Show my plans
  • List all my plans

This will provide a list of plans in the form of clickable buttons. Selecting one of these will list the buckets in the plan, as per below.

List buckets in a plan

This provides a list of all the buckets in a particular plan. As mentioned in the previous section, it can be triggered after first listing all the plans available, and then selecting one of them. Alternatively, it can also be triggered as a 'first step' to the bot, for example:

  • List buckets in Analytics plan
  • What buckets are in the Marketing plan?

The results will be listed in the form of clickable buttons. Selecting one of these will list the tasks in the bucket, as per below.

List tasks in a bucket

This provides a list of all the tasks in a bucket. As mentioned in the previous section, it can be triggered after first listing all the buckets for a particular plan, and then selecting one of them.

List tasks in plan

This provides a list of all the tasks in a particular plan. The following are some examples:

  • Show tasks in the Analytics plan
  • Tasks within Analytics plan
  • List the tasks in the Analytics plan
  • Analytics plan tasks

My tasks

This provides a list of all the tasks assigned to you. The results will cover multiple plans and buckets, if applicable. Some examples of triggering this command are:

  • List all my tasks
  • What tasks do I have?

Plan summary

This provides an overview of a plan with the number of tasks in different statuses. This is similar to the summary chart available in Planner. Each of the options are listed as a clickable button, which if selected, will return the tasks associated with that status. Examples of triggering this are:

  • Summary of Analytics plan
  • Show overview of Analytics plan
