This document provides the steps required to complete the basic functions with LiveTiles Blueprint.

LiveTiles Blueprint allows users to easily transfer sites, pages and lists between different site collections.

Adding a site to the Blueprint

When LiveTiles Blueprint is first opened, there is already a site in the Blueprint called the Blueprint Root. Later when a Blueprint is constructed, everything in this Blueprint Root site will be placed into the site/subsite that is chosen for that Blueprint to be constructed into.

Step 1 – Drag the Site tile onto an existing site within the Blueprint

From the tile picker at the top of the page drag the Site tile on top of the existing site of the page.

Step 2 – Fill in the information for the new site

Add in the settings that you want for the site a click Okay.

You will see that you have now created a new site under the site that you chose. In other words, you have created a new subsite.

Adding a page to the Blueprint

Pages can be added to any to any sites that you have in your Blueprint. When a page is added to the blueprint, LiveTiles Blueprint takes a snapshot of that page at the current time and then adds the snapshot to the Blueprint.

Step 1 – Drag the Add Page tile onto an existing site within the Blueprint

From the tile picker at the top of the page drag the Add Page tile on top of the existing site of the page.

Step 2 – Fill in the information for the new Page

Give the page a name and then choose an existing page in your site collection that you want to add to the Blueprint.

Click Okay.

Adding a List to the Blueprint

Lists can be added to Blueprint as well. However, these lists will be blank as you cannot grab Lists from your current site collection.

Step 1 – Drag the Add one of Lists tiles onto an existing site within the Blueprint

From the tile picker at the top of the page drag one of the Lists tiles on top of the existing site of the page.

Step 2 – Fill in the information for the new Page

Click Okay.

Exporting a Blueprint

This feature is used to save a copy of the Blueprint on your computer so that you can then later import it into another LiveTiles Blueprint.

Step 1 – Have a blueprint to export

To export a Blueprint you first need a Blueprint to export. You can create a Blueprint from scratch by following the previous steps or you can grab a Blueprint that you have previously saved by clicking Open in the top navigation bar.

Step 2 – Click Export

Once you have your Blueprint click the Export button in the top navigation bar to export your Blueprint.

Click Download to receive the Blueprint. It will download a JSON file of the Blueprint onto your computer.

Importing a Blueprint

Used to import a previously exported Blueprint into LiveTiles Blueprint.

Step 1 – Have a Blueprint to import.

To import a Blueprint into your site collection you need to have a Blueprint that had been previously exported from LiveTiles Blueprint. A Blueprint will be in a JSON file format.

Step 2 – Click Import in LiveTiles Blueprint

Once you have a Blueprint click the Import button in the top navigation bar to import the Blueprint.

Save or not save any unsaved changes on your current Blueprint.

Find the Blueprint on your computer you wish to import, then click Okay.

Constructing a Blueprint

Allows you to apply your Blueprint into the site collection that you are in.

Step 1 – Have a Blueprint to construct

To construct a Blueprint, like exporting a Blueprint, you first need a Blueprint to construct. You can create a Blueprint from scratch by following the Adding a Site, Adding a Page, and Adding a List steps or you can grab a Blueprint that you have previously saved by clicking Open in the top navigation bar.

Step 2 – Click Construct

Once you have a Blueprint click the Construct button in the top navigation bar to construct the Blueprint.

Save or not save any unsaved changes on your current Blueprint.

Choose a site within your site collection. Click Okay.

Wait while LiveTiles Blueprint constructs the Blueprint.

Once your Blueprint has been successfully constructed you can choose whether to go to your site or stay in LiveTiles Blueprint.
