The following article will take you through the steps to enable your SharePoint environment for LiveTiles Mosaic installation. 

Overview

LiveTiles Mosaic is deployed using a dedicated app called LiveTiles Mosaic Manager. The app handles the deployment of the LiveTiles subsite and associated assets into your chosen SharePoint site collection.

The Manager app is also used to uninstall the solution from an environment. 

Once deployed most of the functionality of LiveTiles Mosaic is delivered centrally from a content delivery network (CDN) minimising the need for app updates. 

Below takes you through the following steps required to successfully install LiveTiles Mosaic: 

  • Download the App
  • Adding the App to the App Catalog
  • Adding the App to a site collection
  • Installing LiveTiles Mosaic through the App

Note: This guide assumes that you have completed the steps in Prerequisites - LiveTiles SharePoint Installation
Mosaic requires the same prerequisites as Design. **In order to be able to install Mosaic, you must have an active O365 Education license.**

Step one 

Download the App

File app will appear in your File Explorer in the Downloads folder

2. Add the App to the App Catalog

Locate your copy of the LiveTiles Mosaic Manager App file
Open the SharePoint App Catalog (e.g. https://<yourdomain>.sharepoint.com/sites/apps/AppCatalog)

Click Upload
Upload the LiveTiles Mosaic Manager App file.

3. Add the App to a site collection

Open the SharePoint site collection you wish to use LiveTiles Mosaic in (e.g.https://<yourdomain>.sharepoint.com/)

Go to Site Contents
Click New
Click App

Select the LiveTiles Mosaic Manager app (you should see it under the Apps you can add section)

You will be prompted to Trust the app with its associated permissions. If you are prompted with 'You can't add this app here' please complete Approving the LiveTiles Design Manager App , (the same steps apply to installing Mosaic) before continuing.

Once the installation process is completed you will see the app under Site Contents:

4. Install LiveTiles Mosaic through the App

Launch the LiveTiles Mosaic Manager App.

Click Install
The page will update with the successful installation
If you receive red X's at any point, review privacy/permission settings and the prerequisites for LiveTiles app installation, **especially custom script enablement and a valid O365 Education license** 

Click Go to Mosaic
You will be prompted by a modal window letting you know the app has not been registered

Click OK
Enter your licence details into the registration form
Tick the End-User Agreement checkbox


Click Register

Click OK

You are now ready to start using LiveTiles Mosaic!
